Japanese loves to see Sakura(Cherry Blossoms). This may excuse for having fun because we like to have outside party beside Sakura during this season.
For Japanese, Sakura is a very special flower. Tied to the Buddhist themes of mortality mindfulness and living in the present, Japanese cherry blossoms are a timeless metaphor for human existence. Blooming season is powerful, glorious and intoxicating but it is tragically a short life about 1 week. In our culture, this flower is a symbol for rebirth.
The day time is also very nice to walk and see Sakura but do not miss the light-up events in the night during this season. My recommendation place to visit is Chidorigafuchi park next to the Tokyo imperial palace.

And during the season of Sakura, there are food stands near a train station or a shrine area for the festival. You can find several local foods here.
